While working at JNS Next, I was tasked with designing and building a tourism website for The Inlands, a regional destination initiative connected to Visit California. The goal was to establish a cohesive digital presence for California's Inland Empire, bringing together its diverse cities, landscapes, and attractions under one recognizable identity while encouraging travelers to discover a region often overlooked in favor of California's more familiar destinations.
The challenge was creating a website that felt unified without losing the distinct personalities of the region's many destinations. I approached the design with an emphasis on immersive imagery, expressive typography, and interactive storytelling, translating the destination's identity into an engaging digital experience. A central component was the Plan Your Visit page, where I developed a way for visitors to explore four distinct subregions: West End, Southern Vineyards, Inland Mountains, and High Desert. Each was presented with its own personality while remaining part of the larger visual system. Throughout the process, I balanced creative exploration with intuitive navigation, responsive layouts, and the functional needs of a tourism-focused website.
The completed website serves as a central gateway to the Inland Empire, connecting visitors with regional destinations and travel resources through a cohesive, visually engaging platform. The project demonstrates my ability to approach large-scale web design strategically, translating destination branding into an interactive experience that balances visual storytelling, usability, and technical execution.

Homepage Mockup - The Inlands Homepage Mockup — A full-page overview of the homepage design, featuring an immersive parallax effect created by individually isolating and layering the mountain ranges. As visitors scroll, the mountains move at different speeds, adding depth, dimension, and a dynamic sense of exploration to the digital experience.
The Inlands Interactive Map Page — A custom-built interactive map designed to help visitors explore the region and begin planning their trip. Users can discover destinations, visualize travel distances, and get a better sense of their proximity to local attractions, transforming a traditional map into an engaging, functional trip-planning experience.
